Health Bread

Health Bread

Makes: 2 loaves


  • 4 cups Nutty Wheat
  • 2 cups Digestive Bran
  • 1 cup Pecan Nuts, chopped
  • ½ cup Sunflower Seeds
  • ½ cup White Sesame Seeds
  • ½ cup Raisins
  • 22.5ml Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 7.5ml Salt
  • 3 cups Plain Yoghurt or Maas
  • ½ cup Honey or Golden Syrup


  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  2. Make a well in the centre and add the plain yoghurt / maas and honey / syrup. Combine all the ingredients.
  3. Spoon into greased loaf tins (12cm x 22cm) making sure all the raisins have been pushed into the bread mixture as to not burn.
  4. Bake at 180⁰C for 50minutes.Take the bread out of the tins and bake at 160⁰C for 20 minutes.
